In July four lab members went to Nara, Japan, for an international worm development and cell biology meeting. One of the keynote speakers was non other than Masatoshi Takeichi – discoverer of E-cadherin! Guess who sat next to Wei Yung at the Japanese pub?
The very first lab trip was to Henderson bridge back in March 2011. Then, we took taxis to Telok Blangah Hill park and walked from there to Vivo city. This July we revisited Henderson bridge, but we got there by foot all the way from NUS! The map below doesn’t show the exact route, but the distance is really 10km and it took us about 2h. On Henderson bridge we re-enacted the game of guessing which of three personal stories is real and which are made up just for fun. From Henderson bridge we continued all the way to Sentosa and had dinner in the Malay street.
